On Saturday January 26, 2019, DURI.ĂN VP of Hanoi Operations, Quyen Bui, met with CSDS Director, Don Tuan Phuong to discuss the progress of the lunch program for 85 preschoolers in the Pa Che 1 Village and Pa Cop 2 Village, in the Son La Province of northwest Vietnam. To date, we have served over 2500 meals since the program started on December 17, 2018. CSDS has made two monitoring visits to record the progress of the program. CSDS was also accompanied by local volunteers who collected winter clothing and blankets for the children.

On September 18, 2018, the Virginia State Corporation Commission issued us our official Certificate of Incorporation. Just like that, DURI.AN, Corporation, was born.
DURI.AN is a nonprofit organization that was started by Ryan Mai and Madeleine Mai. Our name was inspired by the fruit, durian. We separated DURI and AN – DURI is meant to represent the word durable while ĂN is meant to represent the Vietnamese word eat. Thus, our tagline: Durable Eats!
HANOI -- On Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 3:00 ICT, Bui Le Ngoc Quyen (middle), Vice-President of Hanoi Operations, and Bianca Pham (right), DURI.AN Advisor, met with Don Tuan Phuong (left), Director of CSDS, to discuss the provision of nutritious meals to young children in rural Vietnam for the 2018-2019 school year. They discussed funding the project for 62 Pre-K students in two villages in Vietnam. We aim to officially begin project operations in November 2018.
